VALERIE R. SMITH

Valerie R. Smith is an associate attorney with Goolsby, Proctor, Nelson & Lee with a primary focus on insurance defense litigation. She was born and raised in Oklahoma City. She received a bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design at the University of Central Oklahoma in 2001. After working in the marketing industry in Seattle, she decided to apply her problem-solving skills in the legal field. She attended Oklahoma City University School of Law, graduating in 2010, and has been practicing insurance defense for over fifteen years. 

Valerie initially started handling medical malpractice cases representing physicians across the state. She then moved to an in-house counsel position with Liberty Mutual handling personal, commercial and general liability suits. Valerie’s extensive experience in the insurance defense industry has made her a huge asset to the firm. 

Valerie lives in Oklahoma City and is a proud aunt to three nephews. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, snow skiing, volleyball, sporting events and being active.
